Stress-Testing Remote Management Approach

Three-month assignment conducted in collaboration with an internal Country Manager-level Working Group on gathering best practice for remote management methods and decision-making under the global strategy on Diminishing Humanitarian Space.

The ultimate objective was to facilitate discussion among leaders within the NGO on how to better navigate situations of low humanitarian access, and to reach a consensus on next steps for developing core tools and methodologies to feed back to the board. This involved extensive consultation with key internal stakeholders about current practice, including one-on-one interviews, anonymous surveys, and a 2-day workshop. We reviewed the compatibility of existing tools with the organisation’s evolving policies and procedures, and piloted one in relation to three areas: Advocacy, Security, and Programs, across two Asian and three African countries.
